What the panel is

A Celluma LED panel is positioned over the area being treated for about fifteen minutes. There is no heat to speak of and nothing to feel beyond warmth.

The panel is flexible, so for body and pain work Dana molds it around the area — a knee, a shoulder — and it rests against the skin. For facial treatments it sits above the face and does not touch. Either way it is cleaned and sanitized between patients.

Eye protection is worn for facial treatments. It is not needed when the panel is on a knee or a back.

How it is booked

As an add-on to an acupuncture or microneedling visit. It is not booked on its own. Ask when you book, or mention it at the appointment.

The three panels

Dana runs the same Celluma system in three configurations, priced the same and booked the same way. Which one applies depends on what is being treated:

Being straight about it

Light therapy is a supporting treatment here. It is inexpensive, it is comfortable, and the evidence behind it is more modest than the marketing around LED devices generally suggests. Dana adds it because it is a reasonable use of fifteen minutes, not because it is the part doing the work. The treatment it is supporting is the acupuncture itself.

What happens next

Added to a visit, not booked on its own.

Mention it when you book, or tell Dana at the appointment. She will say whether it is worth adding for what you are being treated for.
